Draft Gold Coast Ocean Beaches Strategy 2013-2023 - Have Your Say

Council has developed the Draft Ocean Beaches Strategy 2013-23 which outlines the preferred approach to managing the city's 52 kilometres of ocean beaches. This strategy will guide how we protect, enhance and fund the management of our iconic beaches over the next 10 years.

A copy of the draft Ocean Beaches Strategy 2012-2023 can be found at www.goldcoastcity.com.au/oceanbeachesstrategy for your reference. A consultation survey is available online at the above location where residents and visitors can have their say. Community consultation will run until 3 May 2013.

Our ocean beaches are part of the fabric of the Gold Coast and it’s lifestyle. They are a significant asset to our City – socially, environmentally and economically. The City of Gold Coast has been developing a ten-year strategy for managing and protecting our ocean beaches now and into the future.

The draft Gold Coast Ocean Beaches Strategy seeks to ensure that:

  • Everyone can enjoy a beach experience;
  • Our beaches are healthy and clean;
  • Our coastal infrastructure is protected from erosion; and
  • There is joint stewardship of our ocean beaches.

Against each strategic outcome, the draft Ocean Beaches Strategy lists key actions and performance measures that will be of interest to your organisation and its members.

We strongly encourage your organisation to have its say on the draft Ocean Beaches Strategy and we ask that you encourage your supporters to provide feedback.
