Member Spotlight: Shine Lawyers (Robina)

Amanda Gilmour, Legal Practice Manager for Shine Lawyers Robina, has a big task in managing a team of solicitors, paralegals and administration staff. Though Amanda says its all worth it when you can assist people whose life has been impacted by a significant event that prevents them from working, and assist them in seeking justice. In recent times the task has become even harder with Shine Lawyers Robina, like many others, having to increase their use of technology through video meetings, phone meetings and electronic signing of documents in lieu of face to face meetings. Amanda says "We have received a great response from our clients to the increased use of technology as it has been convenient for them too".

And though it has been a rough road, Shine Lawyers Robina has managed relatively well and this has been attributed to the firms' ability to adapt by ensuring our staff could work from home with the resources they needed to continue managing our clients’ cases and continuing to get results for them. Amanda says that "being agile and open to change during this unprecedented time will be critical for a lot of businesses", something that she says restaurants, gyms and the likes know all too well; having changed their business models quickly to adapt to the new situation. "As a firm, we were able to move our entire workforce of 700+ people to working remotely within one week and we have seen the benefits of this for our staff, business and clients.".
