National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Cultural & Recreational Services, Education & Training

National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an internationally renowned tourist attraction receiving over 600,000 visitors a year, and plays a significant role in wildlife conservation and education.

In 1976 the Sanctuary was gifted to the National Trust of Queensland, and was heritage listed in 2009. The Trust continues to operate the Sanctuary on a not-for-profit basis, with all revenue reinvested back into the park, in conservation-based research and public education.

The Sanctuary is also home to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Treating over 11,500 sick and injured native animals every year as a free service to the community, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world.

By raising funds and awareness Currumbin Wildlife Hospital aims to continue its mission of protecting and preserving our native wildlife for future generations to enjoy.

The Sanctuary also offers unique wildlife experiences for corporate events and corporate team building, and we are currently inviting Corporate Partnership opportunities.

With a background in operational management within the Hotel and Casino industry, Michael has been able to develop and refine the Sanctuary’s offerings.

Michael’s ability to grow individuals through mentoring and coaching has resulted in the personal and professional growth of his team. This, in turn, has transformed the culture to one with a focus on people and their achievements.

His leadership has been integral in developing Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary into a must do attraction for both local and international visitors.

Michael is currently developing and leading the implementation of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary strategic direction, breathing new life into the facility and continuing to grow the world renowned attraction.
