JobTrainer

The Morrison Government has recognised the importance of adult learning, and the development of skills, regardless of age.

Deciding to up-skill or re-train takes a lot of courage and for Adult Learners Week, Federal MP Karen Andrews is encouraging you to look at the new possibilities available through adult education. The Morrison Government recognises the importance of adult learning, and the development of skills, regardless of age. That's why they have established the $1 billion JobTrainer Fund to give Australians access to free, or low-cost, training places in areas of identified skills need. The Job Trainer Fund will create around 340,700 additional training places.

Under the JobTrainer Fund, funding will be available for accredited qualifications and short courses in areas of identified and genuine skills needs, based on a list agreed between the National Skills Commission and the state and territory governments. It is expected that state and territory governments will then determine which qualifications and short courses to prioritise from the agreed list, with a focus on training in areas of anticipated employment growth.
